J.R. fought for and helped secure funds for small and middle-sized farms and agriculture institutions following the earthquake in Haiti. He helped family farms to get back on their feet. J.R. has experience in international trade and plans to use this to fight for small and medium-sized farms in Florida and help our citrus industry retake California as the number one producer and exporter. He has also helped write multiple pieces of legislation where he prioritized funds for the agriculture industry. This experience is vital as the job of the Commissioner of Agriculture to create protections and secure funds for Florida's agriculture and consumers.
